Completing a referral
Key Concepts
Completed Referral: A referral that has met the required conditions such that the referrer is eligible for their reward.
Referrer / Referee: These terms distinguish the two parties in a referral. The referrer is the existing member who refers someone else to the business. The referee is the friend/new customer who was referred.
Earning Rules: The configurable rules that determine how customers earn points in the loyalty program.
Activities: A special type of earning rule used to track certain customer activities without awarding points for them.
Completing referrals on Perkville
Referrals on Perkville are marked as "completed" when referral-eligible earning rules or activities, are fulfilled by the referee. You can decide which earning rules and activities complete a referral by toggling the Completes Referral setting on.

Reviewing referral-eligible perks
You can get a high-level overview of which activities are elgible to complete referrals via your Rewards Program page. You will see a completes referral icon next to the earning activity.

Membership restrictions and completing referrals
If rewards participation is restricted only to members this will affect how you can complete a referral.
Earning activities will not be awarded to non-members and not complete referrals
If you manually award an earning activity to a non-member, any referrals will complete
Activities will trigger referral completions for non-members
Multiple referrals count
If an individual is referred to your business by multiple other individuals, all of the referrers will receive bonus points.
For example, if Elise is referred to your business by Samantha and Sarah, both Samantha and Sarah will receive bonus points and their referrals will be marked as completed.
