Why are some of my referrals not showing in my account?

If you’ve referred friends to a business using the loyalty program but are not seeing all your referral points, this article explains what may have happened and what you or the business can do next.

How Referrals Must Be Submitted to Earn Points

To receive referral points, the referral must be submitted using the methods supported by the business's loyalty program powered by Perkville. The primary way to refer friends is:

1. Sharing the Referral Offer Using Your Own Communication Tools

You can copy and paste your unique referral link and share it via your personal email, text messages, or social media. This method is supported by all businesses using Perkville.

To ensure your referral is tracked:

  • Your friend must click your unique referral link.

  • They must follow the instructions and complete any necessary steps (e.g., joining or making a purchase).

  • The business defines what qualifies as a completed referral and when points are awarded.

2. (Optional) Submitting Your Friend's Info via the Referral Form

Some businesses also provide an online referral form where you can enter your friend’s contact information. If available, it can be accessed through the Perkville interface or the business’s branded rewards site. When you use this method, Perkville will email your friend the offer and track it on your behalf.

Note: Not all businesses offer this form. If this option is not visible, please use your own communication tools as described above.

What to Do If Referrals Don’t Appear in Your Account

If your friend joined the business but you didn’t use one of the supported referral methods—or if your referral wasn’t tracked correctly—the business may still be able to help.

Businesses using Perkville can manually credit a referral in your account if they verify the referral occurred. Staff can do this through your customer profile in Perkville.

Who Manages Your Loyalty Program

Perkville is the software platform that powers loyalty and referral programs for many businesses, including gyms, salons, and wellness studios. However, we do not manage individual customer accounts. Each business sets its own rules for earning points and is responsible for managing your account activity.

If you believe a referral is missing or there’s a mistake in your account, please contact the business directly. They have the tools to investigate and resolve most issues and can escalate to Perkville support if needed.
