Creating a challenge
Global Challenge Settings
First, go to the Challenges section under settings - you'll want to click on Global Challenge Settings in the top left to set parameters for all challenges you'll create.
You'll need to choose what to name challenges at your business. You can keep the defaults, or you can choose something more specific to your branding.
These will apply to all challenges created, not just one specific challenge.
Create Your Challenge
Click on Create a Challenge.
You'll need to name the challenge and add a description.
You have the option of creating a custom display Uri. If you choose not to create one, we'll use the hyphenated name of the challenge.
Additional Text Customizations
You are able to add fine print to the challenge and customize the message that will be sent to users when they join the challenge, are ineligible for the challenge, complete the challenge, or if they don't complete the message.
Participation Restrictions
Restrict join status
You can choose to either track progress for all rewards program participants, even if they have not yet joined the program, or only those who have joined the rewards program.
Location restriction
You can set up the challenge to only count transactions at specific locations towards challenge progress.
Date restrictions
You are able to set a date range in which the challenge is active.
Add Challenge Activities and Rewards
Once you've saved your settings, you'll need to add progress activities/goals for participants. Click on Add Challenge Progress Activity to get started on this step.
If your progress activity is a manual earning activity, such as points for a review, you will need to add that to client accounts manually using the Give/Add Points feature. If this is not done then points will not track for that manual earning activity or the challenge, and the challenge will not complete.
Choose the activity from the drop-down menu and the frequency the activity must be completed during the challenge timespan. Then enter the name of the activity to be displayed, a description, and optional URL and display priority. Continue adding any additional progress activities.
If you don't see an activity you would like to include, you'll need to create a custom progress activity. To do so click on Create a progress activity in blue on the main activity creation page as screenshotted above. Then enter a title and a description. Save, then choose the newly created activity from the dropdown list.
Creating a Reward
Once you're finished creating progress activities, you'll need to create a completion reward. Click on Add Reward for Completing on the main challenge creation page under your challenge draft. Choose how many points participants get upon completion, and click save. You can also create a point reward for those who participated, but did not complete the challenge. Click on Add Reward for Participating (Optional) to do so.
Preview Your Challenge
Once you've created your challenge, you can preview what it will look like before making it live. Click on the green Preview above the challenge name on the main challenge creation page. Your preview may look similar to the following example.
Your clients have the option to join or opt out of the challenge on the finished page once live.
Launching
When you're ready, click on the green Launch to switch your challenge from draft form to live. You'll see a pop-up asking to confirm your action.
Once it's launched, the challenge will show a Deactivate option if you would like to end it early. Please note, by clicking the deactivate option it will remove the challenge completely from your program and the edit page.
