Referral
To configure a referral program in Perkville, follow these steps:
1. Access Referral Settings
From your business dashboard, go to the Reward Program option in the left navigation menu. Scroll to Earning Activities and click the “+” icon to create a new Referral rule.
2. Define the Reward for Completed Referrals
You can choose how to reward members when their referred friend completes a qualifying action. Perkville supports two reward types:
Points: Specify the number of points a customer will earn for a completed referral.
Instant Reward: Alternatively, you can offer a one-time reward, such as a free month of membership or another benefit you define.
A qualifying action could include purchasing a membership, making a specific purchase, or any other milestone that you define.
3. Configure the Referral Form Layout
Choose how you want customers to share the referral offer:
Share Offer Layout (Recommended): This layout allows customers to share the referral offer through their own communication channels, such as text or email. It does not request the friend’s name or email, ensuring that the message is sent directly by the customer. This option supports CASL compliance best practices.
Share Offer and Enter Friend's Information Layout: This layout enables customers to enter their friend’s name and email address so that Perkville can send the referral offer on your behalf. You can also specify whether the friend's first and last name are required. The referring member’s name is automatically included in the subject line and body of the email for transparency.
4. Customize the Call to Action
Use the Share Offer Call to Action field to tailor the call-to-action text displayed to customers. The default text is "Share Offer", but you can change this to better match your brand voice—such as "Share Friends and Family Offer."
5. Optional: Add a Description
You can add a description to the referral rule that will be visible to customers. This is useful for providing more context—such as clarifying that the referral is only considered complete if the friend purchases a membership or meets other criteria.
